Image Color Picker
Image Color Picker helps you pick a color from an image by clicking or tapping the exact pixel you want in your browser.
Use this no-upload color picker from image workflow to copy HEX, RGB, HSL, CSS color strings, alpha, and pixel coordinates for design, CSS, screenshots, logos, and photos.

Supported image types
The picker uses browser image decoding and canvas pixels, so support follows the image formats your browser can decode safely.
Choose an image
Drag and drop, paste, or select a JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, or AVIF image up to 50 MB.
Picked color
HEX, RGB, HSL, alpha, and pixel coordinate.
Choose an image, then click or tap a pixel to read its color values.
Image Color Picker Guide
What this image color picker reads
The picker decodes the selected image locally, draws it to a browser canvas, and samples the pixel under your click or tap. The result shows the browser-rendered red, green, blue, and alpha channel values for that exact pixel coordinate.
HEX is useful for design handoff and CSS, RGB is useful when you need channel values, and HSL is useful when you want to adjust hue, saturation, or lightness. Transparent pixels also show alpha and an eight-digit HEX value.
- HEX: six-digit color for opaque pixels, plus HEX8 when alpha is present.
- RGB/RGBA: direct red, green, blue, and opacity channel values.
- HSL/HSLA: hue, saturation, lightness, and opacity for CSS-friendly editing.
- Coordinates: the sampled x and y position on the natural image pixel grid.
How to pick an exact pixel
Choose an image, then click or tap the spot you want to sample. The visible preview can be scaled down to fit the page, but the tool maps your pointer position back to the original pixel grid before reading the color.
For tiny details, use the loupe after you move over the image. It shows a magnified crop with smoothing disabled so adjacent pixels stay easier to distinguish.
- Use screenshots when you need a color from an app, web page, chart, or presentation.
- Use original images when you need a color from a photo or logo export.
- Zoom in with your browser if a very small feature is hard to tap on mobile.
- Sample several nearby pixels when compression, antialiasing, or shadows create edge blends.
Privacy and browser color limits
The image stays in your browser for the color-picking workflow. The tool uses local file selection, object URLs, canvas drawing, and pixel reads; it does not need a server upload to find the selected color.
The sampled value is the color after the browser decodes and renders the image to canvas. That is ideal for web and UI work, but it is not a full color-management or print-proofing workflow. Different displays, image profiles, compression artifacts, and browser decoding behavior can affect what you see.
- Use the ICC Profile Viewer when you need to inspect embedded color profiles.
- Use the CMYK vs RGB Detector when you need to know whether an image file is print-oriented CMYK or screen-oriented RGB.
- Do not rely on a browser pixel sample as the only proof for press color matching.
- Keep the original file when exact production color or metadata context matters.
