Remove Camera Serial and Model From Photo
Remove Camera Serial and Model From Photo creates a clean copy of a supported image without original camera identity metadata.
Remove camera serial number from photo files, remove camera model from EXIF, and strip lens or device model fields from JPG, PNG, WebP, and AVIF images before sharing.

Supported photo types
Camera identity removal is done by creating a new browser export. This removes camera make, model, serial, lens, and other embedded metadata from supported formats.

Camera Serial and Model Metadata Guide
What camera identity removal does
Digital cameras and phones can store camera make, camera model, body serial number, lens make, lens model, lens serial number, device profile fields, host computer, software version, thumbnails, and editing metadata inside image files. This tool removes camera identity metadata by decoding the visible pixels in the browser and exporting a new clean image copy, which also drops the original EXIF, XMP, IPTC, thumbnail, and similar metadata containers from supported formats.
- JPG and JPEG files download as clean JPG copies.
- PNG files download as clean PNG copies.
- WebP files download as clean WebP copies.
- AVIF files download as clean WebP copies because browser AVIF export support is inconsistent.
- The original file stays unchanged on your device.
When to remove camera model and serial metadata
Remove camera model and serial metadata before publishing anonymous photos, sharing images from a private device, posting investigative or workplace photos, sending client files, or uploading images where camera identity could connect separate photos to the same phone, camera body, lens, or editing setup. Camera fields can be useful for photography workflows, but they are unnecessary and sometimes risky for public sharing.
- Remove camera make and model before anonymous publishing.
- Remove body serial number and lens serial number before public release.
- Remove host computer and software fields when device identity should stay private.
- Use the EXIF Viewer tool to inspect the clean copy when verification matters.
Limits of browser camera metadata removal
This tool supports image formats that browsers can reliably decode and re-export, but it does not clean HEIC, HEIF, TIFF, RAW, PDF, video, Office files, animated files, or the original file in place. The clean export can slightly change compression, file size, color handling, or file format, and visible camera reflections, watermarks, captions, screenshots, or device names printed into the image pixels are not metadata and cannot be removed by metadata stripping.
- Keep the original private if you need an archival copy.
- Use dedicated desktop tools for RAW files, HEIC files, batch jobs, or forensic workflows.
- Review visible image content as well as hidden metadata.
- Recheck the downloaded clean copy before high-risk publication.
