Detailed comparison
Demand Signal
A dedicated 4:5 cropper competitor exists, and public user discussions show why: creators want vertical feed content without losing important image areas.
- Demand is practical and platform-driven.
- The direct competitor means the page needs a crisp differentiator.
Differentiation
TextFaker should present exact feed-readiness details that a simple cropper may not surface. The result panel should be as important as the preview itself.
- Crop box table.
- Warnings table.
- Download details table.
- Copy summary button.
Implementation Notes
A clear integer rounding strategy is important because crop boxes must be repeatable. Prefer storing source crop rectangles as integers and output scale separately.
- Manual drag updates normalized offset.
- Numeric inputs can set crop anchor precisely.
- Canvas export uses the stored source rectangle.
Testing Path
Create test fixtures for wide, tall, square, exact, and small images. Assert expected result messages and output dimensions.
- Wide image should remove equal left and right pixels by default.
- Tall image should remove equal top and bottom pixels by default.
- Small exact-ratio image should pass aspect but warn about resolution.
Research notes
- Vayce is a close product comparison and should be included in future SEO comparison pages.
- The strongest TextFaker angle is exact Instagram feed crop validation rather than generic 4:5 cropping.
- Community demand notes about composition and cut-off text should be used in original language, not quoted extensively.
